East Africa and the Horn: Press Freedom Rankings

Reporters without Borders has released its "2018 World Press Freedom Index" that ranks 180 countries.

A number of African countries rank better than the United States, which is in position number 45. Countries in East Africa and the Horn, however, fare poorly. Their rankings from best to worst are: Tanzania (93), Kenya (96), Uganda (117), South Sudan (144), Ethiopia (150), Somalia (168), Djibouti (173), Sudan (174), and Eritrea (179).
