Out of Tragedy, An Opportunity for Somalia

The Atlantic published on 17 October 2017 a commentary titled "Out of Tragedy, An Opportunity for Somalia" by Amanda Sperber, a writer based in East Africa.

The author argues that the deadly truck bombing in Mogadishu may finally result in serious security reform by the government of Somalia. While security reform and a reigning in of corruption are certainly needed, there is not much evidence to suggest it will happen.
